Eastleigh’s Winning Start
In their first match of the 2023-24 National League season, Eastleigh secured a crucial win against Gateshead with goals from Harry Sidwell and Josh Lundstram. The game took place at Silverlake Stadium and saw the young AFC Wimbledon loanee Sidwell opening the scoring in the 13th minute. His header from a Max Dickov cross was the perfect start for the home team.
Prolonged Victory
Eastleigh continued their dominance into the second half, extending their lead six minutes after halftime when Lundstram capitalized on a driven cross to put the game out of reach. Despite Gateshead’s late goal from Ash Boatswain, it was not enough to change the outcome.
The victory marks Eastleigh's first in the National League this season and sets a strong foundation for their campaign ahead.
