Eastleigh Walking Football Club hosted two teams from Guernsey in a summer tournament at Places Leisure Eastleigh on Saturday, 11 July — the club’s 17th-placed National League side currently sits on 50 points from 46 games.

What happened at the Eastleigh walking football tournament?

The day-long event featured two competitions running side by side. In the 50+ age group, Eastleigh, Guernsey, Botley and Portsmouth competed for the Sarnia trophy, sponsored by Sunnybank Care Home. Over in the over-65 category, Guernsey, Eastleigh, Portsmouth and Winchester played a round-robin format, again battling for the same silverware.

Kick-off began at 10.30 am and spectators turned out in force to watch walking football in action. Entry was free, giving fans a chance to see the sport up close.

Why it matters for Eastleigh’s walking football push

The tournament gave Eastleigh’s walking football squads a chance to test themselves against visiting sides from the Channel Islands. With the Sarnia trophy on the line in both age groups, the day doubled as a competitive outing and a community showcase.

Eastleigh’s first-team men currently sit 17th in the National League on 50 points, 58 behind York, and have shipped 80 goals this season — a -23 goal difference that leaves room for improvement.

What comes next for Eastleigh?

The club’s next league outing came on 25 April 2026, when Eastleigh beat Scunthorpe 1-0. Their recent run reads two wins and two draws, a four-game unbeaten streak that leaves them on a two-game winning run heading into the close season.

With free-to-watch action and a summer tournament in the books, Eastleigh’s walking football set-up now turns its focus to the new season and the next competitive fixtures.
