Eastleigh FC has signed former Saints goalkeeper Josh McNamara in a transfer boost ahead of the new season. McNamara joins the Spitfires after a single season as a backup goalkeeper at the Silverlake Stadium. He made five appearances in the National League for Eastleigh last season as former Newport stopper Nick Townsend assumed the number one role. McNamara, who also spent time in Manchester City's academy, joins Slough after a single season as a backup goalkeeper at the Silverlake Stadium. At Saints, McNamara made 27 appearances for the under-21s, and spent time on loan in the National League South with St Albans City in the 2023/24 season. McNamara said after joining Slough, "I've got a good academy background, and I made a good first step into men's football with Eastleigh." McNamara is excited for the season ahead and is looking to give his absolute all to keep as many clean sheets and get the club in the best place they can.
